Mags 64th Birthday:)

An absolute perfect day, started with a bit of a lay-in as Mag opened a couple of presents and replying to the many best wishes on Facebook:) My plan was to head over to Dedham for a walk which gave us time to enjoy our little garden, I did my usual exercises as my left knee is really playing up while Mag really enjoyed planting out bulbs, loads of them! I then packed a picnic and we left Felixstowe just before midday stopping off at the bakery in Walton for Birthday cream cakes and then with a lane closed on the Orwell bridge we got caught up in a long queue:( The diesel light then went on in our van so we had to fill up at Tesco’s in Ipswich before continuing onto Dedham and parked easily at the mill around one! The walk started with a trip around the lovely mill pool spotting the first of many paddle boarders, a couple of fisherman and workman fitting new locks gates which look great. Back at the road Mag returns to the van to get the duck food, lucky she did as we had so much fun feeding the ducks, swans and also loads of fish! We ambled along side the beautiful Stour surrounded by stunning Constable countryside, reaching the first gate there was 40 bullocks in the way, I went first and got past easily, Mag was much more nervous but made it safely:) At the woodern footbridge we feed the ducks before heading away from the river up a great footpath up the hill surrounded by sheep with great views :) There is a nice footpath leading to Flatford where we find a great little garden run by the RSPB then we follow all the pensioners to Willy Lotts Cottage. Back over over bridge where we find a nice seat near Flatford Mill for lunch where we use the last of our bird food feeding the swans, ducks and fish, just lovely! Well rested we then amble back spotting the little electric tourist boat. There are more cows in the field which Mag gives a wide birth! Over the woodern bridge and back to the van after a top day,, I really think Mag enjoyed her Birthday, she was well chuffed to get so many best wishes. Then in the evening we had a nice chat up with my sister, top day:)
